The Reason We Build. Numbers Don't Lie.

This statistic comes from a Building Doors poll of about 200 voice over actors. Respondents were 47% men and 53% women.

Those pink seats represent the 27% of women invited to audition for male dominated sports promos.

From the blue seats, men glance left and right, see a little pink, and call it progress.

(see those tiny scattered pink dots?)

They say things are better now.

From the pink seats, women see what it really is.A stadium still built for men.Women scattered just enough to quiet the conversation.

This is not about talent. It is about proximity. Who gets closer to the field. Who stays in the upper decks.

Swap the seats. Put pink down front. Push blue up high. The pushback would be instant.

Because most resistance to equality is not fear of change. It is fear of losing a seat.

Unlocked: The Power of Partnerships

Before I was a full time voice over actor, I worked in marketing and PR. Most of my work was for nonprofits, government agencies, and a family owned real estate developer. If you read between the lines, what that really means is this:there was no marketing or PR budget.

I was constantly challenged to make something out of nothing.

“We have no budget, but we want this…”

“There’s no money for that, Christy, but if you can make it happen for free, go for it.”

At the time, those conversations were frustrating. It would have been so much easier if they had just coughed up the money. But what I can see now, and what I couldn't see then, is that those constraints sharpened a skill I still rely on today.

They improved my ability to sell ideas, not products, and to create partnerships, not customers. When money is not an option, you learn quickly that alignment, trust, and shared goals become the real currency.

You can see that play out with Building Doors.🏈 The W Sports Bar Super Bowl event.🎙️ The Building Doors Podcast.▶️ Our LIVE event series.🤝 The brands that have publicly supported us.

Those partnerships did not happen by accident. They were built intentionally, through conversations and a clear understanding of how everyone involved could win.

But every once in a while, something different happens.

Someone from the Cleveland Cavaliers reached out and said, “I have been watching you and Building Doors, and I want to put you in a room with the three professional sports organizations we own and have you pitch Building Doors.”

We were connected, but he never liked my posts. He never commented. He was just watching.
