This week, a theme has been showing up in both my work and personal life: I see you.
It’s funny how three simple words can bring tears, relief, hope, and sometimes release a whole lot of built-up stress and tension.
Earlier this week, I sent a quick message to someone. I wanted her to know I saw how hard she was working on a project. It wasn’t long or over the top, just a simple: I see how hard you’re working. Keep going.
Her response was an outpouring of gratitude. She was genuinely moved just to be acknowledged.
And it got me thinking…isn’t that what we all want?Someone to notice the effort we’re putting in.Someone to say, “Hey, I see you.”
At our core, we all want to be heard, to be seen, to know that someone cares.
Now, what I’m about to say might sound a little self-centered, but it’s something I’ve learned I actually need....
