The Reason We Build. Numbers Don't Lie

Women-owned businesses are a growing force in the U.S. economy. Today, they make up over 40% of all businesses, employing 12.6 million people and generating $2.8 trillion in revenue.
But their impact is not evenly reflected across the system. While women own a large share of businesses, they account for a much smaller share of total employment and just 4.6% of overall business revenue. Most women-owned firms remain smaller, and only a small percentage have employees compared to those owned by men.
The gap points to structural barriers, limited access to capital, fewer opportunities in high-growth sectors and less access to networks that help businesses scale.
Even so, momentum is building, and data shows women-owned businesses can drive more jobs, higher incomes, and long-term wealth.

Headlines that Matter

44% of AI systems show gender bias.
That’s nearly half of all AI systems tested showing measurable discrimination against women. In hiring. In healthcare. In finance. In credit. In criminal justice.

A shift is coming.
Can you feel it? I can.
I’ve mentioned in previous editions of this newsletter that as voice actors, and honestly as human beings, we are living through a massive shift in how things are done, both in our industry and in the world.
That feeling you have that the world is coming to an end? I don’t think it’s the end. I think it’s the breaking point before something new begins.
Industries are changing at lightning speed. It’s hard to keep up, adapt, and still hold onto a sense of who you are.
Some people look at all this constant change and nonstop headlines and feel ready to wave the white flag.
“I’m out. I can’t work in an industry being taken over by AI and billionaires.”
“The middle class is almost nonexistent. The world isn’t what it used to be.”
“I’m sick and tired of billionaires getting richer while everyone else falls behind.”
From where I sit, yes, a lot of that is true. But I can also tell you this. There are people quietly working in the background of all this chaos to build something different.
There are people creating new systems that don’t just tweak the old way, they replace it.
