The Reason We Build. Numbers Don't Lie.



"Menstrual products were first tested with actual human blood in a landmark 2023 study by Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), published in the BMJ Sexual & Reproductive Health, revealing that absorbency claims were often inaccurate compared to real-world use; prior to this, products were tested with water or saline. The study found significant discrepancies, with some products holding much less or more than advertised, highlighting the need for more realistic testing methods."


Headlines That Matter



Men are literally betting on WNBA players' periods. Not their skills. Not their stats. But on when strangers think they might be menstruating.


This is happening during the most successful WNBA season ever. While players like A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart are dominating on the court, men online are predicting which “phase” of their cycle they’re in and using that to place bets.


One influencer even said he hopes “the cramps kick in.”


It’s gross. It’s invasive. And it’s rooted in the same sexist logic that’s long been used to discredit women and people who menstruate - as “too emotional,” “too hormonal,” or “not reliable” enough.


And while these men profit off fake science and period charts, the actual athletes, the ones being dehumanized, aren’t even part of the conversation.


This is a reflection of how even at the peak of their careers, women in sports still have to fight for basic respect.
